About our company

Our company has its origins in the middle of the 20th century. At that time, our family business was already trading carpets worldwide. When Mohammad Bagher Haghnegahdar, one of the co-founders of the German Carpet Shop, took over the management of the company in 1965, it gained worldwide importance and became an important name in the carpet industry.

At German Carpet Shop we don't just sell carpets online, we create experiences, give homes warmth and weave stories into every fiber. It is a celebration of craftsmanship, tradition and the pursuit of unparalleled comfort.

At the beginning, our company had a branch in a traditional bazaar in the south of Iran. However, at the time of the Gabbeh trend in the mid-1980s, the German Carpet Shop was preparing for a complete retooling and the company was expanding its production capacities for global trade. We hired over 1,000 carpet weavers and produced more than 30,000 square meters of carpets in a year. As a result, our company gained importance in the carpet industry.

We have now had another branch in Hamburg for more than 20 years in order to be able to offer our European customers the best possible service. Furthermore, we produce our carpets not only in Iran, but also in Nepal and India.

Honest work is what sets us apart. We maintain a good relationship with our employees. For our carpets we use our own wool, which we obtain from our sheep herds in Iran. We achieve the color intensity of our carpets through natural plant dyeing processes. This is how we create authentic products that we are proud of.

Since our international establishment at the beginning of 2000, we have received various recognitions and awards for our services. We are 10-time winners of the nationally recognized trade and export specialists in Iran and have been nominated several times at the Domotex Design Awards.
